All kidding aside: We met twice during the development where a single issue was mentioned in passing. Never talked on the phone. All communication was via e-mail, with subject lines like "tag you're it". Sometimes it didn't even take that - I would notice a new testcase was introduced that demonstrated a failure and code a fix. Then notice later that my fix had been improved.

The biggest problem was scheduling, as we both had other commitments to deal with...
