I’m pleased to see Atom as a foundation for a number of emerging standards in quite a number of venues.
Open Data Protocol
The following is kinda wonky though:
<link href="/blog/rss.aspx?type=atom" rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Atom Feed" />
SDShare — Protocol for the Syndication of Semantic Descriptions
OASIS Content Management Interoperability Services
Positioned as an
binding alternative to SOAP Web Services
PubSubHubbub Core 0.3:
Designed for Atom, but also works with RSS 2.0.
Atom is also being used as the format for ebook catalogs. Calibre provides it out of the box at the catalog address followed by “/stanza” although I don’t see it obviously advertised as actually being there.

Sam, thanks for the heads up. We just updated the Atom <link> on odata.org to indicate the correct type (application/atom+xml).

Doesn’t Google’s GData count?
