InternetArchitectureBoard

[WWW]Internet Architecture Board - IAB is a committee of the IETF.

One charge of the IAB is to provide "oversight of, and occasional commentary on, aspects of the architecture for the protocols and procedures used by the Internet." So, I wonder if there been any further consideration of the suggestion by TimBray [WWW]weblog entry to gaining approval from the IETF by going through the InternetStandardsProcess?

Before entering that arena we need rough concensus and running code:

"These procedures are explicitly aimed at recognizing and adopting generally-accepted practices. Thus, a candidate specification must be implemented and tested for correct operation and interoperability by multiple independent parties and utilized in increasingly demanding environments, before it can be adopted as an Internet Standard."
