Meaning

"Kita" means "we", "us" or "ours" in Indonesian. Just added the final "k" to add symetry and increase the uniqueness of the name. Google has about 2,600 pages with the name, mostly people's names I think.

[MartinAtkins] is the "I" pronounced as in the word "kite", or as in the word "will"? I like the sound of it with the I in "kite", but given the word it is based on I'm guessing the intended pronounciation is with the I in "will". Maybe it could be spelled "Kytak"? That has a different pronounciation ambiguity, though: is the "Ky" bit pronounced as the ki in "kite" or the word "key"?

[jayseae] Not terribly helpful perhaps, but my first inclination is to pronounce Kitak as key-tack.

[AsbjornUlsberg] Being Norwegian, I read kee-tack.

[CyrilFievet] Yes, for me the "i" should be pronounced as in "kit" or "tip" (Most European people would pronounce it this way, I think, and the original word is like that too)
