XMPP Pub/Sub
Joe Hildebrand posted some thoughts about how Atom could integrate with XMPP (and therefore Jabber).
While I have now read
Pub/sub, I
am left with more questions than answers.
For starters, I think that Joe's post talks about authentication at a different level than I mean it. From what I understand of Jabber, a client established a socket connection to the server over which a number of discrete messages from a variety of original sources may flow. Authenticating the original source is what I am after. Something closer to pub/sub affiliations.
At an even more basic level, I have a question as to whether the client must be online at the time the entry is published.
