Recognizing openness

Tim Bray has an category he calls Sunbeams. A category of posts where he encourages others at Sun to post publicly. The name Tim chose for this category always struck me as funny as Beamer (or Beamer) is slang for IBMer.
So far, I have avoided identifying myself too close to my employer. Medium size cog in a gargantuan wheel (Current number of employees: 319,273) But there is a growing number of people within IBM considering blogging, and deserve encouragement.
I haven't decided whether or not I want to make this a practice, but Michael has been blogging for three months now, and often covers topics near and dear to my heart: open source and open standards.
In any case, I'm subscribed now. You might want to be too.
