Chutzpah!  I like.

Shelley already shows it can be done.  I hope that some of her ongoing work will make it into 3.0.

Any pointers to where a lurker might want to hang out?  Who knows, I might even decide to contribute an odd bit of code here and there.  For example: I don’t see any reason why something like the Content-Negotiation plugin couldn’t optionally serialize the results as conforming HTML5.
